Amarillo, TX – A local disabled veteran’s empty house is turning into a place he and his family can call home thanks to a non-profit based in California.

Furnishing Hope provides severely wounded veterans a fully furnished and decorated home. The organization has furnished 158 veterans’ homes since 2011, and Saturday they will transform the home of Christopher Bradley in Amarillo.

Bradley served in the Navy Reserves for six years. In 2009, a mortar hit near his tent in Iraq. “Since then, we’ve been dealing with going through the Polytrauma,” said Bradley. “I have a traumatic brain injury and PTSD. It’s been a struggle, needless to say.”
