Suzanne Hoey – college graduate, single mother and veteran – has seen a lot in her 36 years.
She enlisted in the Air Force after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks because she wanted to make a difference. She served two deployments in Afghanistan, where she encountered things unimaginable to most of us.
She goes all to pieces, however, over this two-bedroom apartment in Costa Mesa. And, frankly, this is what Beth Phillips and her band of volunteers from Furnishing Hope love.
