Home in a Day Challenge!
Help us change the life of a wounded warrior!

Design Challenge

A warm, inviting and comfortable space. It’s not only where our wounded heroes deserve to come home, it’s where they need to come home to begin the process of healing.

Furnishing Hope is a privately funded 501 C (3) that has teamed up with Living Spaces, as well as other sponsors and donors, to fill the homes of veterans with furniture, accessories and supplies; everything they need to live comfortably. To date over 300 homes have been furnished for wounded military heroes!

Through the month of October, Furnishing Hope is inviting designers to furnish and stage a wounded hero’s home. We need you to help make these homes personal and special. We are looking for interior designers interested shopping, coordinating, packing and installing a home. The challenge is… all this has to be done in one week!

You’ll need to:

  • Review your hero’s application and needs
  • Shop at Living Spaces
  • Select linens, towels and bedding
  • Pick out accessories, art and lamps from our warehouse and at the FH HOME Store
  • Prepare kitchen set-ups
  • Pack items for transport to hero’s home
  • Drive to San Diego, Riverside or LA for your installation
  • Direct a volunteer team on installation day
  • Welcome a wounded hero into their furnished home

Requirements:

  • Must be a professional interior designer or home stager.
  • Installations will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, between the hours of 8am and 6pm during the month of October. Designers must be available on installation day and have time during the week prior to spend at least 5 hours prepping for the project.
  • There is no financial commitment to furnish a home for a wounded hero but we do require our designers to put their heart into the project, making the home as special as possible for each recipient.

You too can make a difference in the life of a wounded hero…

  • "It was the greatest blessing we could have ever received. I'll never forget walking into our newly furnished home. I cried tears of joy. Our house is now a home. We are forever grateful for all the wonderful people who came to help. Thank you is not enough for all that was done for me and my family."

    - Jeffery, Navy

  • "We feel incredibly blessed by the generosity you all have shown us. My husband and I have never been able to purchase brand new furniture due to our finances and being without furniture left us feeling like our home wasn't really finished, comfortable or ours. Since we spend most of our time at home, our home really is where our heart is at. This experience was magical. Thank you so much."

    - Richard, Army

  • "Because of Furnishing Hope and their kindness and generosity, I am able to return to my home with a sense of well-being and comfort, something I have been lacking due to recent financial issues. I cannot say how appreciative I am, and how grateful I am to have such a wonderful organization assist in my life."

    - Amy, US Airforce
