Furnishing Hope's mission is to provide furniture and supplies to our wounded military heroes and single parents transitioning out of shelters. We are looking for passionate, creative, and focused individuals to help us grow and expand our work while providing the very best for our nonprofit clients.

Furnishing Hope is looking for a residential interior designer or experienced stager to install, manage, and design interiors for our clients. This is a no-nonsense position. We need someone who is willing to put in long hours, work hard, thrive under pressure, remain attentive and positive, and above all be compassionate to the needs of those we serve.

Ideal Candidate Skills

  • Advanced level experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Degree from an accredited design school
  • 2–5 years of experience working in residential or commercial design (required)
  • SketchUp and CAD are not required for this position
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to listen and take notes
  • Initiative to follow through with pending items, anticipate questions, and create solutions
  • Meticulously organized, efficient, focused, and detail-oriented
  • Able to work well independently without much supervision
  • Practices discretion with confidential client and business information
  • Must have own laptop and vehicle
  • Must be willing to travel domestically within California and out of state (up to 50% travel may be required)
  • Outgoing and warm personality — you will be asked to lead teams of volunteers and ensure everyone is busy and challenged

Basic Responsibilities

  • Handle general office operations including phones, filing, and running errands as needed
  • Manage client installations and all ordering and selection of furniture and décor (specifications, purchase orders, shipping, etc.)
  • Serve as primary liaison with vendors and subcontractors
  • Manage and maintain thorough knowledge of all items within client files (specifications, meeting notes, etc.)
